Official Press Release: Luke Corbett Joins Omniadigital.
A Curiosity That Never Switched Off
From the moment you meet Luke, you feel his curiosity. Because he grew up taking things apart simply to understand how they worked, he developed a natural instinct for problem‑solving. Eventually, that instinct led him to programming in high school. A form tutor introduced him to Small Basic and Python, and the spark caught quickly. When he created his first working Caesar cipher, he realised something important. This wasn’t just a subject. Instead, it was a world of puzzles waiting to be solved.
Joining Omniadigital
Luke joins Omniadigital as a Software Engineer, and he’ll be in good company with our CEO, Matt Small, Chief Rubix Cube Master. He brings enthusiasm for both the technical and human sides of the job. In addition, he’s excited to keep developing the mobile app he’s currently building. He’s also energised by the chance to learn from “really smart and talented individuals across a multitude of disciplines.” As a result, collaboration matters deeply to him, and he treats it as a privilege.
How He Approaches Problem‑Solving
Ask Luke about his favourite part of development and he’ll point to problem‑solving. He enjoys breaking projects down to first principles. He thrives on challenges that seem impossible until suddenly they’re not. Consequently, he’s drawn to the moments where logic, creativity, and persistence collide.
A Project That Shaped His Mindset
One project stands out for him: a 2D artificial ecosystem simulation he built in Java for his final year at university. It wasn’t his most polished work. However, it taught him something more valuable. He learned he could overcome challenges, academically, personally, and everything in between. That mindset sits at the heart of how we work at Omniadigital.
Coding to the Rhythm of Nu‑Metal
If Luke’s coding style were a music genre, he’d choose Nu‑Metal. Fast‑paced. Locked‑in. Focused. He works with caffeine, noise‑cancelling headphones, and internet radio to avoid skipping songs. Meanwhile, he zooms out when he needs clarity, then dives back in with precision.
Life Outside the Code
Unexpected Details
Luke often surprises people. His hair reaches his waist. And although he spent 23 years firmly in the “dog person” camp, a stray cat at his office car park changed his mind. The cat hopped onto his bike seat each winter morning for warmth and scratches. Now he proudly sits with a foot in both camps.

What He Loves.
After a day of coding, Luke unwinds with films. He’s a big movie buff and recently enjoyed Predator: Badlands. He’s also a fan of the Far Cry series and is currently playing through Far Cry 5. For anyone who loves learning from passionate experts, he recommends the podcast Ologies with Alie Ward.
Quick‑Fire Questions
His Ideal Weekend?
Exploring a new city with his partner Sophie. They love discovering hidden brunch spots, independent shops, and the little treasures you only find when you wander off the main streets.
Tabs or spaces – and why?
Tabs, not for any profound philosophical reason, it is just what I am used to and I like that I get a consistent indentation and reduce key presses.
What He’s Looking Forward To?
Passing his driving test and finally swapping two wheels for four after many winters on a motorbike.
A Hill He’ll Die On?
Chocolate biscuits—plain or caramel. Add‑ins like popping candy or jelly beans? “Ruins the chocolate.” He’s firm on this one.
A Belief That Changed?
Luke’s view of confidence shifted this year. He once thought confidence came from already knowing the answer. Now he sees it as something built through trying, asking questions, making mistakes, and learning as you go. It’s a mindset that fits beautifully with how we work at Omniadigital.
Welcome to Omniadigital
We’re thrilled to welcome Luke to the team, and we look forward to our data community meeting him at events over the coming months.
